On fall 1997, three staff belonging to France Telecom Rennes Regional Direction, with a desire to share their passion for "competitive sailing", decided to set up an internal sailing challenge within France Telecom Group.
The first edition of this challenge, named ArmorCup.com, took place in Saint Quay Portrieux in May 1998.



  • 1998 : Saint Quay Portrieux : 142 participants on a class 8 fleet
  • 1999 : La Foret Fouesnant : 180 participants on a Figaro fleet
  • 2000 : Trébeurden : 154 participants on a Figaro fleet
  • 2001 : Lorient : 210 participants on a Sun Fast 32 et de 31.7 fleet
  • 2002 : Pornichet : more than 300 participants on a Sun Fast 32 et 31.7 fleet
  • 2003 : Le Crouesty Arzon : more than 180 participants on a First 31.7 fleet
  • 2004 : Le Crouesty Arzon : 200 participants on a First 31.7 fleet
  • 2005 : Port-Haliguen : 200 participants on a Grand Surprise fleet
  • 2006 : Port-Haliguen : 250 participants on a Grand Surprise fleet
  • 2007 : Lorient : 300 participants on a Grand Surprise fleet
  • 2008 : Lorient : 250 participants on a Grand Surprise fleet
  • 2009 : Lorient : 200 participants on a Dufour 34 fleet
  • 2010 : Le Crouesty Arzon : 300 participants on a Grand Surprise fleet
  • 2011 : Le Crouesty Arzon : 350 participants on a Grand Surprise fleet

Today, this regatta is accredited by the French Sailing Federation and is qualificative for the French Corporate Championship. Two crews from 2011 ArmorCup.com participated to French Championship at Cap d'Agde (34).

    Spirit :

    This sailing challenge is a friendly one. It welcomes employees from the whole France Telecom Group. Fair-play and positive spirit from all participants are key to the event success.

    Since 2001, Armor-Cup has been associated to the Autism Days organised by the France Telecom Foundation. Funds have been raised during Armor-Cup every year since then.
